MODULE 1: SPEAKING & PRONUNCIATION
In this module, we use a combination of videos of native speakers and a variety of interactive exercises, in order to present how to improve student’s speaking and pronunciation skills, as well as how to effectively correct their errors.
MODULE 2: LISTENING
In module 2 we show how to develop student’s proficiency in listening, in order to become more freethinking learners. At the beginning, we will present effective methods and a step-by-step guideline on how to teach students to track down the most important information from the converser. There are examples of various types of listening activities, together with the advantages and disadvantages for various age groups.
MODULE 3: READING
In module 3 we present a guideline and the features for an effective reading class.
We talk in detail about the importance of the pre-reading tasks, then we move to various exercises which aim to master your students skill of understanding what they read. We also show the best practices of how to teach in order to track down the main idea of the text in addition to how to answer detailed questions regarding the text. The subjects of the sample reading comprehensions are highly diversified, and the difficulty level of the texts increases, starting with texts at upper-intermediate level, ending with advanced texts, related to matters such as business topics.
MODULE 4: WRITING
In module 4 we first of all go through productive prewriting activities. Then we present several different approaches of how to effectively develop writing skills amongst students. We also go step by step through methods of correcting and assessment strategies.
MODULE 5: TEACHING VOCABULARY
In module 5 we present the most important aspects of teaching vocabulary, what are the most effective ways for students to memorize them with support of, for example, games, various exercises and the most effective ways to introduce new vocabulary to different age groups.
MODULE 6: TEACHING GRAMMAR
In module 6 we show our TEFL students how to effectively teach grammar. We go through an array of tools and activities which will be helpful in order to plan an effective grammar lesson for the future teacher. The module is divided into three parts: inductive, deductive and interactive language teaching.
MODULE 7: LESSON PLANNING
In module 7 we show our student teachers how to successfully plan an interesting and interactive lesson for different age groups, and why it is so important to plan a lesson. We also talk about the benefits of using textbooks and suggest different ways to replace them with other activities in order to keep the class interesting and informative.
MODULE 8: TEACHING RESOURCES
In this module, we teach our students how to effectively use technology during the English class, the specifics of teaching different age groups, from kids to elderly people and suggestions on the best way to adjust the teaching resources in order that the students develop most out from the class. We also present ideas for using games, songs or quizzes for different age groups.
MODULE 9: MOTIVATION AND TEACHING WITH IMAGINATION
In this module, we share best student-motivating practices based on our knowledge in teaching various groups of students. We have worked on these practices with our experienced and creative teachers and combined their best applications to motivate students extrinsically in order to make them high-fliers. We speak about two types of motivation: integrative and instrumental and their pros and cons.
MODULE 10: BUSINESS ENGLISH AND ENGLISH FOR SPECIFIC PURPOSES
This module specifically focuses on different methods of teaching business English or for other professional purposes.
